A fuel-efficient hot mix plant works by maximizing the "contact time" between the burner flame and the cold aggregates. The process begins with cold aggregates being fed into a rotating dryer drum. In MLD Industries' designs, the internal "veil" or curtain of aggregate is perfectly calibrated so that the heat from the burner is absorbed directly by the stones rather than being lost through the exhaust stack.
