Graded aggregates are metered from calibrated cold bins onto collecting and slinger conveyors. Inside the twin-shaft pugmill, paddles blend aggregates while a variable-speed pump doses water through a flowmeter to achieve the optimum moisture content (OMC). If specified, cement or fly-ash is added using a controlled screw feeder.
