Working Principle and Process Flow — Drum Mix Plant DM Series
In the DM Series drum mix plant, cold aggregates from the feeder bins are transferred to the rotating drum through a conveyor. The burner at the drum inlet heats and dries the aggregates as they move towards the discharge end. Filler and bitumen are introduced at the correct point in the drum so that coated asphalt mix is formed in a continuous process. Exhaust gases pass through pollution control equipment before venting. The ready mix is discharged to a load-out conveyor and transferred to trucks or storage silos. Automation helps keep bitumen flow, aggregate feed, and temperature within narrow tolerances for each recipe. Detailed flow diagrams and plant sizing recommendations are available on MLD Industries.
